Oliver Collins Presents the Illusion Game to the Sussex Centre for Sensory and Perceptual Diversity
Representing ReBeL at the Autumn Meeting of the Sussex Centre for Sensory and Perceptual Diversity (University of Sussex), Oliver gave a 10-minute presentation about our Illusion Game paradigm.
Opening with a brief history of research on visual illusions, the talk highlighted the lab's rationale for creating the Illusion Game in aiming to reduce metacognitive influences on individuals' responses to illusions. Naturally, our previous implementations of the task were discussed in measuring visual illusion sensitivity in relation to personality traits (e.g., psychoticism) and phenomenological control. And, most excitingly, we announced our latest developments in understanding the perception of visual illusions through the cardiac cycle (systole versus diastole) and evidence accumulation models - more to come soon!
We enjoyed hearing the work of the other presenters and thank the organisers for the opportunity to present our research!
